• Why should I keep a auto log?

  An auto log of repair and service history is important, because your records are important to make sure you vehicle is serviced properly (not over or under-serviced). Service records can also add to the resale value of your car.

Oil and Other Fluids

• How often should I service my car’s fluids?

  In general, fluids should be serviced every 2-3 years.  Some vehicles require a different schedule.  Check your owner’s manual for more specific information.

• What is the proper oil change interval?

  The recommended mileage between conventional oil changes is 3,000 - 5,000 miles or every 3 to 6 months. Synthetic oil changes allow a longer interval between changes, which varies with manufacturer. At Autohaus, we follow a 3,000 mile interval for conventional oil, and a 7,500 mile interval for synthetic oil on our personal and loaner fleet.

• How often should fluid levels be checked?
